Imelda, our CEO, shares why Christmas at Martlets is so special and her thanks as we enter the New Year.
“Christmas is a very special time of the year at Martlets; there’s always so much happening with lots of twinkly lights, carols, and presents. Our amazing volunteers and our dedicated team at the hospice work tirelessly throughout the festive season to make wonderful memories for local families that they will treasure forever.
It’s also a time of the year when we traditionally look back over the previous twelve months and count our blessings. Martlets is a charity so our funding relies on the ever-generous people of Brighton & Hove who continue to keep us close to their hearts.
I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported us this year. So, if you’ve ever dropped some change into one of our buckets, left a gift in your will, visited one of our shops, spent money at an event, been sponsored, held an event for us, or taken part in a challenge then I would like to say a massive ‘thank you’.
I’d also like to thank the caring business community of Brighton & Hove; you continue to amaze us with your outstanding generosity.
Thank you too to our fantastic volunteers who selflessly give their valuable time to support us, our nurses and medical teams and absolutely everyone behind the scenes.
You are all part of team Martlets, caring for those who need our support every day of the year.
Wishing you all a joyful, happy and peaceful Christmas and a wonderful New Year.”
