Improvement work commences at Martlets Hospice

Improvement work will begin at Martlets Hospice in Hove on Monday 30th October. The work will involve closing the car parks for 7-9 weeks, which are currently used by staff, volunteers, and visitors.

The project, named Renaissance II, will involve:

  • levelling the slope at the main entrance
  • resurfacing and expanding the car parking facilities in the top car park
  • creating a new entrance at the current IPU entrance

The project will help ease access at the hospice for our patients, their families, our volunteers, and staff.

Visitors, staff, and volunteers are asked to consider an alternative method of transport to get to the Hospice during this time. We ask you consider walking, using public transport, or lift sharing to get to the hospice over the coming weeks. The hospice is on the Number 5/5A bus route and is a short walk from Aldrington train station.

For those with mobility issues, there will be a drop-off/pick off point at the entrance to our In-Patient unit. If you are driving we ask that you allow plenty of time to find a parking space.

Limited parking is available on the surrounding roads around the hospice, however, as these are residential areas please do not park at the detriment to residents. If you do choose to drive and park when accessing the hospice please do so with consideration for local residents.

We will advise when the car park will reopen, both partially and fully, but this is heavily dependent on the weather and progress of the works.

We apologise for the inconvenience caused by these works and thank you for your patience and co-operation.
