Martlets Hospice is celebrating a New Year funding boost thanks to a £4,568 donation from the Morrisons Foundation. Martlets will use the donation to purchase two new specialist and fully adjustable beds for our inpatient unit.
Imelda Glackin, Chief Executive for Martlets Hospice, said: “We are so grateful to the Morrisons Foundation for funding the purchase of two new beds. The beds will provide great comfort to people being nursed on our inpatient unit and will help us in our efforts to deliver life changing hospice care to local people.”
The Morrisons Foundation, a charity set up by the supermarket, awards grants for charity projects which make a positive difference to people’s lives. Since launching in 2015 the Morrisons Foundation has funded a wide range of projects, supporting charities in local communities across England, Scotland and Wales.
David Scott, trustee of the Morrisons Foundation, said: “We are delighted to have awarded this grant to Martlets Hospice. They provide an important service caring for people with terminal illnesses, and I’m sure that this donation will help them to ensure that patients can be as comfortable as possible.”
