We couldn't do what we do without the work of our amazing volunteer team.
With more than 500 volunteers completing a huge variety of volunteer tasks for us on a regular basis – to us, your time is priceless.
Our volunteers give us a wide range of skills and time. Whether it’s a few hours once in a while or a regular weekly shift, they play a crucial part in keeping your local hospice going.
We’d like to take the opportunity to showcase some of the amazing individuals who have really gone the extra mile and say a huge thank you to all our volunteers for your hard work. Whether it’s a regular shift or a once in a while, we’re so grateful for the time our volunteers give us.
Long service awards
In May 2024, our annual Long Service Awards was held at the hospice, celebrating volunteers and staff who have achieved between 5 and 45 years of service. In total, 54 awards were given out, totalling an impressive 745 years! Staff and volunteers who attended were treated to a wonderful performance by our Good Vibrations choir, as well as a fantastic buffet produced by our cafe catering team.
Huge congratulations to all our fantastic long-service volunteers who received an award.
Volunteers' week
We want to make sure our volunteers know how much we value their time. Which is why every year during Volunteers' Week (3 June - 9 June) we put on a special event and invite you to enjoy a well-earned day of fun. Previous events have included: a beautiful garden party with afternoon tea, prosecco and live entertainment.
