3 ways you can get involved in Shaun by the Sea

This autumn, our third art trail takes place in Brighton & Hove. We can’t wait for you to meet our 120 baa-rilliant Shaun sculptures.

Shaun by the Sea will bring together a fantastic flock of Shaun the Sheep sculptures. It will represent the individuality and diversity of Brighton & Hove. The trail of big and little Shauns covers the whole of the community which Martlets serves, and the bold, brave and colourful designs will shine a light on the life-changing impact of hospice care.

Although the trail is a few months away, there are already plenty of ways you can join our flock. If you’d like to join Shaun the Sheep in his fantastic art adventure this autumn, read on…

1. Volunteer as a trail-grazers

If you want to meet new people and support Martlets, then look no further. We are now recruiting for our team of trail-grazers. They are our key ambassadors for the trail, volunteering in teams of two once a week to help visitors on the trail.

You may be helping people with the app, talking about Martlets or taking photos. We ask that you commit to one four hour shift a week between 9th September – 5th November. We would also need our trail-grazers to be available for some of our events, like the auction or the farewell weekend.

2. Sign up for the Shear Drop

Could you take on a 450ft Shear Drop from Brighton i360? This ewe-nique fundraising event will give you the chance to join Shaun’s flock of superheroes.

Taking place on 5th October, the event has a £30 registration fee. You’ll receive an exclusive t-shirt, a fundraising pack and an invite for you and friends to our Shear Drop party. Everyone who takes part in the Shear Drop will be asked to raise funds for life-changing hospice care at Martlets.

3. Become a Little Shaun Shepherd

Could your business help Shepherd our flock? We have 80 little Shaun sculptures who are being designed by schools, nurseries, care homes and community groups across the city. Together they are fundraising towards our ‘flock fund’, with a collective target of £50,000.

To help them along the way, we are looking for businesses to sign up to support a little Shaun near them. For a donation of £250, you’ll be supporting a local group and you’ll also be entered into a prize draw to win your own little Shaun sculpture to display in your business.
