About Light Up a Life

At Martlets, we understand how deeply a bereavement can affect you and recognise that some times of the year – like the festive season – can be challenging for many people. Light Up a Life is an opportunity to join with others in the community to celebrate the lives of our loved ones.

The event is designed to be inclusive for everyone, offering a gentle and supportive space where people of all faiths and none can come together to reflect and remember.

Light Up a Life will last around 30 minutes, and will be led by our CEO, Stuart Palma. There will be moments of reflection, pieces of music, lighting and dedicating of candles together.

The event will be held at the hospice in Hove, where we will also be displaying all in memory dedications. Guests are invited to enjoy light refreshments afterwards.

Please do dress warmly, as the event will be held outside the front of the hospice and we are subject to the weather.

Please note there may be photography at this event.
