Return of inpatient services to Martlets Hospice, Wayfield Avenue, Hove, BN3 7LW from 14 November 2023
I’m delighted to confirm that the works on Martlets Hospice building are complete and we are now making preparations to move back. After 18 months away from our Hospice home, we are pleased to be returning to our inpatient ward, comprising two new purpose-built wings with fully ensuite rooms and additional facilities to offer exceptional care for our patients and their loved ones.
We are planning to move our inpatient care from Maycroft Manor Care Home back to Martlets Hospice in Hove on Tuesday 14 November 2023. This means that patients based on the ward at Maycroft Manor Care Home will be transferred to Martlets Hospice throughout the day on Tuesday 14 November. However, please be assured that we will assess each patient individually on the day and will only transfer them to the Hospice if we can guarantee that they can be moved in comfort and that it is in their best interests to do so. We have secured space and staff to support patients who cannot be moved from Maycroft Manor Care Home, if needed. We will keep patients and their loved ones informed of individual move plans, on the day.
We know how important spending precious time together is, so visiting will continue to be permitted at both locations. However, as each patient will have individual requirements and transfer times, we ask that loved ones contact us prior to their visits to ensure that everyone is comfortable and settled. We ask for your compassion and support during this short period of change.
Our Hospice at Wayfield Avenue has a new café that is open to all from 8am to 3pm, so family and friends are welcome to come along and use the facilities whilst they wait for patients to be settled. Please be aware that the café will only accept cards and not cash.
