Our care
Before your stay, a senior nurse on the ward will call you and go through what you need to bring. They’ll also be able to address any questions or concerns you may have.
Martlets’ inpatient unit has a dedicated team of specialist doctors and nurses supported by health care assistants. Our physiotherapist and occupational therapist can help with your mobility. We also have a team of counsellors and social workers on hand if you need to talk.
In addition, our volunteers are involved in everything from serving tea and arranging flowers to hairdressing and complementary therapies (though these services may be subject to change during COVID).
As well as providing expert medical care, we also think about the things that are important to you personally. That could mean having your pet to visit you at the hospice or celebrating Christmas in July. Or simply hanging a poster of your favourite football team above your bed.
Some people choose to spend their final weeks with us. However, most patients can go home once we have their symptoms under control. Our Discharge Buddy service offers patients practical support once they return home.

Another block of text? Gosh really. That's a lot of text. But just keep going. Really it's just to show what a page with a bit of text looks like. I don't like it.
Could we ban text? Too much of it is boring. Maybe we need some photos in a moment. That would be lovely. Let's repeat the banner. Awesome work.
