Retail and trading

We have several charity shops across the region - in Brighton, Hove, Peacehaven and Woodingdean. They play an important role in helping us raise funds.

If you love vintage, have a passion for fashion and enjoy serving customers then our shops are the place to be. Each is unique, and they all have lovely friendly teams!

If you’re thinking of volunteering in one of the shops it’s a great way to meet people. Also Martlets really look after us all. You’ll get plenty of training and lots of tea and biscuits!

Events and fundraising

If you like meeting new people, are happy to shake a bucket, cheer loudly and get stuck in, then our fundraising team would love you to join them.

Our events are spread throughout the year. You can help out at just one, or all of them. It's flexible and completely up to you.
If events aren't right for you, we still need your help. Whether it's collecting collection boxes or volunteering in our office. There are plenty of ways to get involved.

“Martlets treated my dad like he was their own dad. They were there for him all the way and I couldn’t be more thankful for care received.”

With patients

Our patient-based volunteers are integral to the functioning of the hospice and the care of our patients in the community. You’ll help us welcome visitors, support our nurses, run wellbeing groups and more.

The commitment shown by our volunteers to their roles and the ongoing service provided by the hospice is inspirational. And of course, of vital importance to our patients and their families.
